About MacResolutions
Hello, I am Fred Balin, principal at MacResolutions, 20 years a certified Apple consultant supporting clients in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties and now a member of the Apple Partner Program. I am also a former Apple product manager, software designer, publishing professional, and educator.
Over the years I have had the special opportunity to support so many outstanding people in the community: scores of residential users; prosumers with a passion for photography, film and video; professionals, such as architects and physicians; artists, appraisers and galleries; consultants and trainers; authors and journalists; communicators in branding, design, printing, advertising, and public relations; and others in the Apple collective.
It is those users and businesses who have sharpened my skills and stretched me into new areas of interest and expertise. Thank you all.
I have also been able to establish working relationships with other experts in specialized areas outside of Apple’s core domains. No single person has all the answers in today’s vast information technology landscape.

There was a time when Apple products were concentrated mostly among personal users, creatives in homes and small offices, and Macintosh islands in large companies. Those days are behind us.
Apple is rapidly growing within businesses of all sizes. How so?
First is Apple’s commitment to constant innovation, extending the boundaries of communication, productivity, and accessibility in the digital age via its enabling technologies and incomparable design.
And among those innovations, from today’s perspective, arguably the most catalytic is iPhone®. Introduced by Steve Jobs in 2007: a cell phone with touch screen, WiFi, email, web browser and Bluetooth, and absorbing the music player functionality of iPod®.
About 12 million iPhones were sold in its first full year. With upgrades, enhancements and new capabilities year upon year, since 2015 iPhone has been averaging about 220 million sales a year; 2 billion overall. A global blockbuster that has revolutionized the way we interact with the wide, yet closely connected, world we all share.
